L = 2C + 1.57(D₁ + D₂) + (D₂ - D₁)²/(4C)

Example Calculation:
For center distance of 12 inches, pulley 1 diameter of 4 inches, and pulley 2 diameter of 8 inches:
L = 2(12) + 1.57(4 + 8) + (8 - 4)²/(4 × 12)
L = 24 + 1.57(12) + 16/48
L = 24 + 18.84 + 0.33
L = 43.17 inches
For metric: If center distance is 300 mm, D₁ = 100 mm, D₂ = 200 mm:
L = 2(300) + 1.57(100 + 200) + (200 - 100)²/(4 × 300)
L = 600 + 471 + 10000/1200 = 1079.33 mm
