How to Use This Calculator
Enter your guest count
Include everyone who needs a seat during the meal portion of the event.
Pick table style
Choose round, rectangular, or cocktail/banquet tables. The calculator shows multiple size options for your selection.
Add buffers and special seating
Reserve seats for head tables, kids tables, or accessible seating and add extra tables for late RSVPs.
Formula
Tables Needed = ceil((Guest Count × (1 + Buffer %) − Head Seats − Kids Seats) ÷ Seats per Table) + Reserve Tables
Example: 120 guests × 1.1 buffer = 132. Minus 10 head table seats = 122 guests. For 60" rounds (8 seats), 122 ÷ 8 ≈ 15.3 → 16 tables. Add 1 reserve table = 17 tables.
