Miles per Year Calculator
Combine your daily commute, weekly errands, and annual road trips to estimate total miles driven each year.
How to Use This Calculator
Enter daily commute mileage
Use the round-trip distance so workplace detours are included.
Adjust for hybrid schedules
Lower the commute days or weeks to reflect remote work or vacations.
Add weekly errands and leisure miles
Include school runs, shopping, sports practices, and evening outings.
Include annual road trips
Count long-distance vacations or seasonal travel to get a realistic total.
Formula
Annual Miles = (Commute Miles × Days × Weeks) + (Weekly Leisure × 52) + Road Trips
Example: 30-mile commute, 4 days/week, 48 weeks, 40 leisure miles/week, 600 road-trip miles, oil changes every 5,000 miles:
Commute miles/year = 30 × 4 × 48 = 5,760 miles
Leisure = 40 × 52 = 2,080 miles
Total = 5,760 + 2,080 + 600 = 8,440 miles/year
Oil changes = 8,440 ÷ 5,000 = 1.69 times per year
